Background:

Mike helps organizations achieve their most ambitious goals by facilitating teams through strategic and tactical planning and implementation. He has 26 years of experience launching, developing, and implementing programs and projects. He directed strategically important public and private programs including Seattle's multi-million dollar Community Center Levy Program. He has lead diverse teams through challenging creative projects such as the Woodland Park Zoological Garden's national award winning Tropical Rain Forest exhibit project and The Northern Trail exhibit project. He was one of the first formally credentialed Project Management Professionals and has education in Computer Science, Architecture, and Construction Management.

Mike coaches and trains leaders and managers of organizations world-wide including PMI, Battelle, Sound Transit, The Trane Company, Comfort Systems USA, Carrier Corp., Westinghouse, Honeywell, Coca Cola, General Electric, Lockheed-Martin, US Dept. of Energy, NASA, USWest, Union Carbide, Fluor-Daniel, and Bechtel. He helps his clients explore and develop useful skills and practices regarding important teamwork, leadership, and management skills. He is recognized as one of the early pioneers and experts using computer simulations to develop people’s project leadership competencies. Mike initiated the Certificate Program in Project Management for the University of Washington in 1991 and taught many of its courses. He initiated the PMI Puget Sound Chapter's PMP preparation program in 1988 and has helped many people achieve formal project management credentials.
